Step into fall tanned!
We didn’t want it to happen, but it did – summer is slowly saying goodbye. But even if we are replacing our summer dresses with cozy fall sweaters, there is no reason to say goodbye to our summer tan as well. Fortunately we know what to do to stay tanned long into the fall.
- Apply sunscreen
Wearing sunscreen will prevent any sunburn, which causes peeling and flakiness of the skin. If you’re trying to maintain your summer glow year-round, you’ll avoid this at all costs.
- Take cold showers
Hot baths and showers can also cause faster peeling of the skin. Keep the temperature of the water down – your skin will thank you for it.
- Moisturize and exfoliate once a weekÂ
When your skin becomes dry, it will start to peel and your tan will slowly come off. To prevent this, keep it moisturized at all costs. You also need to exfoliate to get rid of the dead skin cells, which can make your tan look dull (we recommend BYROKKO Coffee Scrub). But do it very carefully so you don’t scrub away your tan.
- Body oil
Here’s a little trick: good tan-deepening oil (for example BYROKKO Shine Bronze) will add glow to your tanned skin and nurture it at the same time so the tan will last longer. Apply it on your body after showering or when you go out, even if you’re not showing skin anymore. It will make you feel like a real goddess!
- Smart food
Look for beta-carotene in foods: this is a chemical compound containing red-orange pigment that can make your skin appear darker if you eat lots of these foods. Some good food sources of beta-carotene include carrots, sweet potatoes, winter squash, spinach, kale and fruits like cantaloupe and apricots.
- Drink enough water
Not only is drinking water healthy for your body, it also prolongs your tan. Stick to approximately 2 liters a day – it keeps your skin plumper and smoother.
- Gradual fake tan
Last but not least: your summer tan can last forever with a little help of your friend, a good self-tanning cream or mousse – like BYROKKO Tan Mousse). Self-tanning products work miracles when you already have a natural tan! Ideally, apply it once a week to give your natural color a boost. To emphasize the tan, wear clothes in light tones, especially white ones.
